Once or twice a year, I send a personal update to friends and family which includes an update on the business side of things. The business of GOODS, that is. And I thought it might be interesting to Goodsletter subscribers. If you’re interested in any of this, please feel free to reach out.
Our next piece will cover our latest observations on the consumer sector.
On Goods Intelligence…
2026 has already become our best-ever revenue year. Last year, we led data, insights, finance/FP&A, and BI work for brands across sparkling water, paper/wipes, tequila/mezcal, ice cream, cookies, and seasonings. And we planned to double down in 2026.
A big reason for our success this year has been the significant time and resources spent productizing almost 15 years of CPG/consumer and finance know-how into best-in-class 3D product rendering and shelf merchandising tools (www.planogrammer.com) and advanced modeling applications (www.cpgiq.com)… and demonstrating our analytical and strategic depth with sites like www.datahud.ai and www.cpguniverse.com.
We also acquired the lauded CPG Data Tip Sheet (www.cpgdatainsights.com), which is widely considered the leading free and independent educational resource on CPG/FMCG point-of-sale (POS) and consumer panel data. The site was founded by veteran industry practitioners Sally Martin and Robin Simon in 2012.
Planogrammer in particular has been a big success. Aside from deploying it within our “standard suite” of tools with existing clients, Planogrammer as a standalone product is deployed with one of the largest healthy beverage brands in the US on a paid-pilot. And we have annual proposals out with other large $50-100M+ revenue CPG brands. Quite honestly, this is the most fun I’ve ever had working in the CPG space… it’s great to jump out of spreadsheets and financial models and into something more visually appealing!
On Goods Ventures…
We’re close to finalizing a new investment in an exciting UK/EU-based business in the foodservice and hospitality space. And I’m very excited about the trajectory of our existing portfolio brands. Some recent brand news:
Ancient Crunch expanding with Target and Whole Foods.
Thanks again to our family, friends, and business partners.
Cheers,
